Jeff Smith sent me this article the other day:
Why You're Never Failing as a Mother
http://huff.to/TVsw2W
I'm not even a mother yet and he's already sending me these articles? What does that say about his faith in my abilities??
Just kidding, really. I think the important message here is to give yourself a break. Too many women take on too much and can't deal with life. Then the whole guilt thing sets in. I get it, I feel that sometimes. I think all women do. And if you don't, well frankly, you are a freak of nature and we probably can't be friends.
This reminds me of a little article I found a few years ago by Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat Pray Love):
Lighten Up on Yourself to Have a Better Life
http://bit.ly/bBkouR
Can we all be a little kinder to each other, ladies? Yes, give ourselves a break, but how about give our fellow lady friends, relatives, even, perfect strangers a break. We're all in the thick of it, whether we have children or not. How about we just be loving, complimentary, understanding...
Didn't mean to get so deep on a Friday. Just take care of one another, people. That message seems a bit more important this week than any other time.
XO, L
